The widow of the late Homa Bay Senator Otieno Kajwang’, Faith, has accused former Primier Raila Odinga of colluding with Kajwang’s family to deny her inheritance.
Faith, who now is forced to do "vibaruas"  to sustain her two children family, accused Raila of failing to stand up and defend her marriage to Kajwang despite having been the one who escorted the late Kajwang to pay her dowry way back in 1993.
She claimed that she was legally married to Otieno Kajwang for 19 years, but the family has refused to recognize and give her, her rightful inheritance from the late Kajwang’s wealth. And those who were there when she got married to Kajwang’ like Raila are quiet and doing nothing to help.

“I was married to Otieno Kajwang’ in 1993 in a traditional marriage where he paid six cows and sh60, 000 as dowry and Raila Odinga was there, he accompanied him and I am wondering why he’s just keeping quite when I am being mistreated like a leper and discarded like a doormat. He should say something may be, they will listen to him,” said Faith.
She accused Kajwang’s brother of stealing her wealth while Otieno’s children suffer.
“These Kajwang’s brothers are all independent and all of them have gainful employment. Why do they want to steal from a widow and why are they fighting Otieno Kajwang’s children?” asked Faith.
Already, Kajwang’s children Christie, 18, and Ronnie have been chased out of school for lack of school fees and only Kajwang’s family can help.

HE IS NOT MY BUKUSU DARLING

As some thought, its over for The Bukusu Darling. Many praised Timothy Kalama and Silker Patel for the broad move they had made by crossing the race boarder and found love between them.

They were thought to be the pacesetters who could have shown that Love can conquer everything. Patel came from a very wealthy business family while on the other hand Timothy was a hustler in their business. When the story about their marriage hit the headlines, the two were employed at Mumias Sugar company.
But she now accuses Khamala of harassing, insulting and mistreating her, resulting in their ‘divorce.’

Patel accused Timothy of Insulting, mistreating and harassing her. What hurts her most was when she fell sick and he never bothered to take  her to hospital and when she insisted, he told her to call her parents. She also accused her of abusing physically and she highly regrets to have done against her parents will. She highly hopes her parents will accept her back.

7 YEARS JAIL TERM FOR ROSE MUHANDO

Popular East African gospel musician Rose Muhando could face up to 7 years imprisonment if convicted of abortion charges facing her.
Muhando, known for her amazing and electrifying music hits was last week alleged to have aborted her 7 month pregnancy.

The pregnancy if successfully managed would have given her a fourth child. Her close show performer is alleged to be responsible for the pregnancy.
Following these allegations, law practitioners, fellow gospel musicians and several leaders were astonished besides the entire world of Gospel music.
A popular law practitioner who sought anonymity said abortion is a legal crime punishable to both the lady who decides to abort and the medical practitioner(s) involved in the process.
“It depends on whether she aborted for her to restore her health which is okey, but if she aborted for other reasons it is a punishable crime committed,” noted the lawyer.
He added, “According to the law, the doctor involved is a jail term of 14 years, while the lady must serve 7 years behind bars.”
On why the doctor must serve double jail term to that of the lady, the lawyer said that it is because of the oath that doctors agree to protect the lives of patients and also for breaching their job ethics.
Gospel Artists Union secretary general Stella Joel when asked about the incident said the union does not have any information about the act, but they could take action against Muhando if the police act on the crime.
“Abortion is a criminal offence, so if the police take action on it, we will also follow suit. For now we can do nothing about it. We are only hearing it in the media and social sites and when we ask her she is denying the allegations,” she said.
Fellow gospel songsters Bahati Bukuku and Christina Shusho were shocked by the news citing that it is very unexpected of Rose Muhando.
Bahati Bukuku remarked, “ Rose is a grown up, if it is true she did it, then that will be God’s decision. It will depend on their dealings. Each person has their own decisions but am really shocked by this.”
Christina Shusho said that the act is illegal although it is a personal issue concerning the alleged person.
Several futile attempts were made to contact Rose Muhando but at last one was successful. She said, “A lot of stories are going around about me, one of them being abortion of a 7 months pregnancy and chances are that I may get arrested.”

    "MURDERED" DESTINY AT LANGATA PRIMARY

pupils at Langata Primary Nairobi staging a demo
#OccupyPlayground. I sat sadly on 19th January 2014 watching our men in uniform who we have been entrusted with the task of securing "taifa letu la kesho" (our nation of tomorrow) violently harassing and brutally murdering the future of our nation and what hit my mind was, where are we heading as a nation? Over the last few years of our "civilization", we have become a nation that invests so much on capitalism where the motto has become ABOUT ME in place of focusing on the good of the community.Children molestation has short and long term effects on our children a fact that we will never run from in a thousand years to come. We have exposed our children in all types of mannerism like neglect, physical abuse, custodial interference, sexual abuse, engaging them in the military wars: whose effects can be felt into 4 major categories-

    1. Physical effects
    2. Behavioral effects
    3. Physiological effects
    4. Economical effects

    1. Physical effects
Physical effect is felt when children's physical development is endangered. It is common when children are hurt during demonstrations, sexual abuse, thorough beatings, maltreatment during infancy, motor impairment, fatal head trauma among others.
child labor is a common occurrence today
an under age soldier at Barma
     2. Behavioral effects
Studies have shown 25 % of children who once in their life time experienced abuse are normally at an increased rate of engaging in alcoholism, smoking, drugs abuse, robbery, political unrest during their middle adulthood (mainly between 15 to 25 years). This is in search of a revenge from the community that mistreated them in the yester-years and as a means seeking attention.Studies have found abused and neglected children are at a risk of experiencing problems such as delinquency, teen pregnancy, and low academic achievement. Similarly, a longitudinal study found that physically abused children were at greater risk of being arrested as juveniles. This same study also found that abused youth were less likely to have graduated from high school and more likely to have been a teen parent. A National Institute of Justice study indicated that being abused or neglected as a child increased the likelihood of arrest as a juvenile by 59 percent. Abuse and neglect also increased the likelihood of adult criminal behavior by 28 percent and violent crime by 30 percent.

    3. Physiological effects
If young adults who had been abused met the diagnostic criteria for at least one psychiatric disorder at age 21. These young adults normally exhibit many problems, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and suicide attempts. In addition to physical and developmental problems, the stress of chronic abuse may result in anxiety and may make victims more vulnerable to problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder, conduct disorder, and learning, attention, and memory difficulties.

     4. Economical effects
A case study of the United Satates of amerca budget allocation of the 2008, The total lifetime economic burden resulting from new cases of fatal and nonfatal child maltreatment was approximately $124 billion in 2010 dollars. This economic burden rivals the cost of other high profile public health problems, such as stroke and Type 2 diabetes. Other costs are incurred as childhood health care costs, adult medical costs, child welfare costs, criminal justice costs and provision of special education.

protecting the right of children is for everyone
Kenya has set a toll free emergency number 116 where patriots are advised on the steps after reporting different types of child abuse. This centre receives over 600 calls per day. Without accounting for cases reported directly to the police stations, and other hundreds which are not reported shows this is menace that is living with us and needs to be attacked from all directions. The bill of rights chapter four article 53 in the children acts of 2001 and not forgetting The international law of children (African charter on the rights and welfare) as well as United Child Rights Convention where Kenya became a member in the year  1190 help in safeguarding our children rights.
